Dr. Emily Mocarski, DVM

Dr. Mocarski grew up in the Bay Area of Northern California, and knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California and worked for 8 years as a technician at a research facility outside of Austin, Texas before pursuing her veterinary degree. She earned her doctorate from Iowa State University in 2021 and during veterinary school she joined many clubs, including the zoo and exotics, reptile, and avian clubs, taking any opportunity to pursue additional exotics learning experiences. She was able to participate in the Study Abroad program, travelling to a wildlife hospital and rehabilitation center in Guatemala to learn more about wildlife medicine and local conservation efforts. After graduation, she completed a one-year small animal rotating internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in the greater Charlotte metro area. She enjoys the challenge of exotic medicine and working with creatures of all sizes, whether they be furry, feathery, or scaly.

Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, photography, traveling, rock climbing, and spending time with her dog.
